Shengying is a warm and empathic listener, a quality her clients often recognize and appreciate. She is passionate about helping individuals uncover their most authentic selves. Holding a Ph.D. in counseling psychology, she brings over a decade of experience in clinical practice, supervision, and teaching. Shengying has dedicated her career to supporting clients with cultural and identity exploration, family and couple relationships, bilingual counseling (English and Mandarin), career transitions, and multicultural, cross-cultural, and social justice concerns.
As a mother of two and a transnational migrant herself, she is especially attuned to the mental health needs of women, persons-of-color (particularly of Asian descent), migrant communities, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and international students. Her therapeutic approach is grounded in humanistic, person-centered values, and is enriched by systemic and emotionally focused therapy techniques, helping clients build insight, resilience, and meaningful connections.
